BUTABARBITAL INTERACTIONS WITH WARFARIN (Coumadin, Jantoven) |
||
| Brand name: Butisol Sodium
If you are taking warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven) and start taking butabarbital, you can expect your INR to drop. This means that you will have an effect as if you had decreased your dose of warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven). To make sure that your INR does not get low enough to cause clotting problems, you should have your blood checked. Your dose of warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven) may need to be adjusted upward. If you are taking warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven) and butabarbital, and stop the butabarbital, you can expect your INR to increase. This means that you will have an effect as if you had increased your dose of warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven). To make sure that your INR does not go high enough to cause a bleeding problem, you should have your blood checked. Your warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven) dose may need to be adjusted downward.
