DEVIL'S CLAW INTERACTIONS WITH WARFARIN (Coumadin, Jantoven) |
||
| Botanical name: Harpagophytum
procumbens
Devil’s claw is used as an analgesic and anti-arthritic. There is one case report in the literature of a possible interaction with warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven), however, the mechanism by which this occurred is unknown. Case report: Increased bruising was reported to the Medical Toxicology Unit, London, when a patient concurrently took devil’s claw and warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven). No other details about this case are available. Based upon this evidence, this interaction is unlikely to be clinically significant. References: Shaw D, Leon C, Kolev S, Murray V.
