Dos
· Do watch out for bleeding that won’t stop
· Do keep your eating habits consistent on a weekly basis
· Do tell all healthcare providers that you are taking warfarin
· Do take a missed dose as soon as possible if on the same day
· Do go to your appointments for testing your blood (INR test)
· Do take warfarin exactly as your healthcare provider tells you
· Do let your healthcare provider know when you get sick or hurt
· Do carry an identification card or wear a Medical Alert bracelet
· Do tell your healthcare provider about any changes in medication therapy
Don’ts
· Do not take warfarin during pregnancy (except if you are having your pregnancy monitored by someone who is qualified to manage high-risk pregnancies) or if planning to become pregnant
· Do not start, stop or change any medications before asking your healthcare provider
