ISONIAZID (INH) INTERACTIONS WITH WARFARIN |
||
| In
relatively high doses, isoniazid can cause the effect of warfarin to be
increased. This means that if you are taking warfarin and add
isoniazid to your medications, you would probably need to have the
warfarin dose decreased.
If you are taking both warfarin and isoniazid and the isoniazid is stopped, you will probably need the dose of warfarin adjusted upwards. The only use for isoniazid is to treat tuberculosis. Therefore, if you do not have this disease, you are not likely to experience this interaction. Reference: Self TH et al. Isoniazid Drug and Food Interactions. Am J Med Sci 1999;317:304-311.
